Honouring and being honoured
Sometimes, it’s good to honour our history with those that have made a difference in our lives.
Rossouw Koegelenberg is one of those men in my life.
And sometimes, it’s good to be humbled by receiving honour. But receiving is often more difficult for some of us, so let me be vulnerable a moment…
Yesterday, Rossouw kindly shared a little of our history with a group of people who are very important to me, but who do not know my history. His goal was to help them to help me establish my business.
This is what he told them…
“I have known Jonathan since 1989 when we worked together for the first time. As youngsters we were both new to the business development function and thrown into the deep-end.
Over the past 35+ years Jon has demonstrated bravery, and is not scared of taking risks e.g. on one occasion he crashed a para-glider in the Cederberg mountains and just about crushed his one heel. Also had a near death health scare where his body rejected normal treatment. Through sheers guts and dedication Jon focused on studying and discovering what to do to completely restore his health to the point where he ran the Cape Town marathon.
When I started my current company Venn Cubed, more than 20 years ago, I was looking for a person with integrity that I can trust, Jon was at the top of my list.
Earlier this year Jon partnered with Venn Cubed again for the 4th time. We are trusting Jon to open doors for us through integris relationships, in organisations medium to large both locally and internationally.
To help Jon establish his business, please introduce him to people in business that are involved in planning, budgeting or forecasting.”
Thank You Rossouw Koegelenberg for a wonderful friendship that I treasure deeply. And I trust will last another 35 years:)
