What is Jon like to work with?
I have worked with Jon in technology sales a few times over the last 25 years. Initially we were on the same team. A few years later I took over the MD role and I hired him back into the business. Recently we have been part of the sales team for a large technology group, and currently we are exploring partnering again. We share the same approach to relationship selling with the focus on finding the best solution to the client’s problem. Jon is energised by networking and meeting new people. He has a gift for helping people by connecting them with the right person who can solve their problem. By nature he is an encourager and he is an enthusiastic and valuable asset to any team. Subsequent to our first interaction in 1989, I got to know Jon very well as a colleague in several roles, beginning as a business associate, and now, 35 years later, as a family friend. Jon excels in connecting with people. As a mature business professional with integrity and impeccable character Jon always positively affects those he connects with.
I worked with Jon for several years in his technology sales role. I was the product specialist consultant, and he was the door opener. We made a great team closing new business together. Our approach was to define an ideal client (client profile) and Jon was effective in finding organisations in our region that matched the profile and then was equally effective in setting up a first meeting. He is proactive team player, always willing to share insights and support colleagues. Jon is also a keen learner, always willing to improve. Jon is disciplined and determined and at the same time humble and friendly, which I have found to be a rare combination in a sales role.
